Shared Action is excited to be one of the Capacity Building Assistance programs able to deliver ARTAS! ARTAS is the new Linkage-to-Care intervention supported by the CDC. ARTAS stands for “Anti-Retroviral Treatment and Access to Services.” This intervention is also in-line with the National HIV/AIDS Strategy’s goal to increase access to care and improve health outcomes for people living with HIV. ARTAS is ideal for Community Based Organizations (CBOs) or Health Departments who have access to or have good relationships testing sites, case management, or CRCS.
This is a straightforward intervention using a strength-based approach to help HIV positive clients link into care. The intervention itself consists of up to five individual-level client centered sessions. ARTAS is for clients who have been newly diagnosed with HIV within the last 12 months and have not been linked to care.
Shared Action trainers, Jordan Blaza and Andi Zaverl will be delivering the first training this March (2012) in Sunny Los Angeles, CA. The training will last two and a half days and is meant to provide funded programs and their Linkage Coordinators all the information needed to implement this intervention.
